The Ochoa family makes these creations together.  They collect coconuts from the trees along the beach.  After husking the nuts, they remove the coconut meat (and eat it!) and then cut circles and other shapes from the shell.  They polish the pieces with sand paper making them shine.  The girls and their mom string the pieces on waxed linen cord with other seeds and colorful beads.  You can pick your favorite color, and they will make the necklace set just for you.
